Aerosol Mixing Through A Fan

Although a common belief, injecting an aerosol upstream of a fan does not necessarily result in adequate mixing downstream. Many fan designs do a poor job of distributing the aerosol from a single injection point. Multiple injection points upstream of a fan will assist in providing the required aerosol uniformity for testing.

Airflow Uniformity Across A HEPA Filter-Various Airflow Conditions
A great deal of focus has been placed on maintaining airflow velocity uniformity across the face of a HEPA filter. The video shows that even with a sharp transition from high to low airflow velocity, the airflow patterns are not significantly disrupted (e.g. heavy reverse airflow or lateral shifts). Airflow patterns are shown for multiple flow conditions.
